Hawaii.

View from balcony at the second place we stayed at on the north west side of island....Kialua / Kona. The place was literally right on the ocean sea wall, and at night the waves sounded like they were going to come right through our room......"cheap and cheerful"....(as good as it gets for Hawaii as far as location for price goes),sunsets over the ocean were a real treat for us east coasters, it was a great little find, and we made heaps of friends there also.
