Mexico...Marina Wharf, Cabo San Lucas.
Mexico...George.
"George".........one of the crew on our boat, with the grommett looking more than a little bit nervous after we got back on land again.........George was a total party animal and looked after us like there was no tomorrow, he was great fun and pretty well helped make the trip a memorable one on his own.One of the girls will probably come back to one of these cruise shots and add some more later.
Mexico...Land's End Arch.
Wendy making sure the mexican boat crew dont go running amok too close to the rocks at "land's end".........our room at Solmar is just around the other side of this point, which is on the Pacific Ocean, where as this is actually in the Sea Of Cortez. The day before I took this shot Wendy, Samara and I climbed up and over this rock formation (which was an absolute adventure just in itself)... from Solmar on the pacific side to a beach on the Cortez side called "Lover's Beach" where you can swim.........it was so hot that you could'nt walk on the sand without it cooking your feet, without any exageration at all, it was quite simply searing / oven hot. We would run like hell for as long as we could, maybe 20 - 30 seconds and then throw the frisbee that we were carting around with us down onto the sand and stand on it or a T shirt or something else to get some reprive from the fire like sand.... and the rocks themselves (granite) were as hot or hotter.
I swear I came home that day with feet that were litterally half cooked, but it was all well worth it when you got there though.
Mexico...Solmar Suites Sunset.
Sunset from the balcony at Solmar......too good to leave out. This would truly be one of the nicest places I have ever stayed at.........I'm not talking about star ratings here, rather the place and surrounds itself.
The room was certainly good, not big or super trendy / modern, but the position and the surrounding area are just something else. As you can see from this photo, the place is literally sitting right on the beach, and an extremely pristine beach at that.
I spotted this place on the web as I was doing my research for this trip back home, and I remember the minute I saw it, I just knew instantly that this was the place I wanted to stay at while in this area....where else can you find a place so secluded with nothing but sand (and I mean nothing) between you and the ocean. It is the sort of place where you can walk out of your room onto the beach in the morning, and you are making the first footprints in the sand since the high tide from the evening before...........and you've had a sleep in !

Mexico...Solmar Beach.
Sunset over the Pacific Ocean from our balcony at Slomar Suites.Mexico is beautiful, there is nothing quite like it, I have loved this country since I first came here. We are truly in relax mode now...no rental cars anymore..........just doing this every day, laying around unwinding and going to half day happy hours...too good.
Hey guys, its Wendy here. It's hot....very hot.....hotter than the Gold Coast. Luckily, I' m taking it easy, well some of the time. this morning we went on a hike over the rock formations (almost rock climbing with ropes) to a secret cove and then on to Lover's Beach. Lover's Beach is a tourist destination but all the tourists get there by boat. Not us, we walked. I'm glad that the hawkers etc were there as we were able to get a drink and not be found dehyrated and dead on the way back. I had shoes on (the new Converse no less) but Samara and Mal were barefooted and they were jumping as the rocks were so hot. The rock formations were granite. I think Samara and Mal thought I was the little old lady as at times I had trouble stretching enough to reach the next foot hold. I made it though!! not dead yet!!
The bartering here is cool, not nearly as difficult as Bali or Thailand or India. the Mexicans seem to be not so persistent.....thank goodness. The do accept "I am just looking" even if they do say that "It is almost free!" Bye for now, Wendy.
